CHOROMNIGRAPH

Car, motorcycle, bicycle wheels, reclaimed metal, sand. 2024

CHOROMNIGRAPH, deriving from 'chōra'—meaning space—and 'omnigraph,' an instrument for universal illustration, is a participatory installation that explores the ephemeral, and fluid boundaries defining our collective understanding of territory and its effects on the land and our bodies.

The structure invites human interaction to initiate movement, allowing participants to observe how their actions leave temporary marks in the sand, which are quickly altered and reconfigured by the continuous motion of the wheels, mirroring the changing and often speculative lines that separate nations; reflecting on how these boundaries impact territorial bodies and the people living within and across them.
