The images displayed throughout this video correspond the most recent visit done by a Mexican head of state to the UK, which occurred in 2015 by former president Enrique Peña Nieto, who travelled with 30 guests and spent 325,000 pounds on a two day trip (INAI,2015). As well as the only official visit Queen Elizabeth did to the Mexican Republic, which corresponds to 1975, when Luis Echeverría was president. Both Echeverría and Peña Nieto are accused of holding responsibility in actions regarding the mass killing of students: Echeverría developing a key role in the massacre of Tlatelolco of 1968 (El País, 2002), and Peña Nieto allowing the disappearance of 43 normalistas in 2014 (GIEI, 2022). Both interactions with the Queen occurred after the disgraceful events.
